About this position

The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Florida Southern College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Industrial/Organizational Psychology.

The successful candidate will primarily teach courses within the Master of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology (MSIO) program while also contributing to the undergraduate psychology curriculum. Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, mentoring student research, advising students interested in careers in I/O Psychology and related fields, maintaining an active scholarly agenda, and contributing to departmental and college service. The teaching load is twelve credit hours per semester.

Our MSIO program emphasizes applied experience, close faculty mentorship, student-engaged research, and preparation for careers in organizational consulting and related fields. We are looking for a colleague who is excited to contribute to the continued growth of the program and support students as they develop as researchers and I/O professionals.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching across core areas of I/O Psychology, including Leadership, Training and Development, Personnel Selection, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Workplace Motivation, Research Methods and Statistics, and Special Topics courses that align with SIOP's recommended areas of graduate training and emerging needs within the field. Expertise in advanced quantitative methods, psychometrics or measurement, and statistical tools beyond SPSS, such as R or other programming-based analytic platforms, is particularly desirable.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology by the time of appointment and demonstrate a strong teaching and research background in the field. We are seeking someone who is passionate about teaching, values collaboration, and is committed to active and engaged learning. Professional or consulting experience applying I/O Psychology in organizational settings is also valued.

We welcome candidates with research and teaching interests that complement existing faculty expertise, particularly in areas such as personnel selection and assessment, training and development, leadership, psychometrics and measurement, people analytics, artificial intelligence and the future of work, organizational change, or other emerging areas within I/O Psychology.

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. A complete application includes a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching and research statements, names and contact information for three professional references, and unofficial graduate transcripts.
